Insect bites on the legs during sleep?

My children have been biting the legs during sleep for two days. It all started when I bought new bedding for Wal-Mart and next morning woke up with bites on his legs. They sleep in the same room in a double bed and a flashlight. I vacuum cleaner, said the quilts, their leaves are washed in hot water, detergent and vinegar. The next morning, there were a few more bites. I called the exterminator and he looked for signs of bed bugs, but found nothing.
