Reflections on a couple of novels, The loss of Nelson and England, England, and one or two trips to Chester

This is not a consideration of loss Nelson and England, England, or a record of visits to Chester. As the title says, this reflects some observations on culture and identity through what English. The trips are offered by the Chester road, as a beginning and an end.

I remember the year my father Electricity Club Sports Council decided on Chester as a destination for walking children. I remember these annual events strongly, however, perhaps because of the ungodly hour at which we had to leave. Britain had not highways and roads were rare then double. The roads in urban centers, the concept of derivation that has just come to the bench – at least in the north – and adults still smoking on the bus, even though the pots of meat snacks were consumed probably in the next seat. The sandwich filling has an impact on history, as the price of the trip includes lunch, usually passed around in bulk, sandwiches cut into triangles, rectangles of the house, and put in ranges Toblerone in a tray covered with cloth. There was an apple or an orange, perhaps at the end. I do not know why I did not like potted meat, but I remember convincing my mother for a number of bacon sandwiches as a supplement to the standard rate. Maybe I'm being greedy, but they are useful, if in an unexpected place.

I remember visiting the historic city center of Chester, all the wooden buildings have a debate about the Tudors, who they were, how they fit into the story, came before and after. The predecessors of all who are concerned about the trip because we were in Yorkshire and could never accept that he had won Lancaster war. At least we were in Cheshire! And then there were the origins of the Roman city to consider, which I find my first Latin word when we were told that Chester was but a corruption of "castration" to the camp of America (a military campaign).

And so for the zoo. Yes there real zoo at that time. I've been a fan of Zoo Time on television, where Dr Desmond Morris, before his famous experiments with higher primates chimpanzee Live and prizes, all housed in a song of Prokofiev. In Chester I remember I liked sea lions, which is oppressive smelly camels and learned that elephants cold bacon sandwiches.

The loss of Nelson is a serious move and study of role of myth in defining identity and the creation of the psyche, citing its power and its limits, resulting from their essence to be simply a myth.

In England, England, Julian Barnes lives in a similar territory, but with humor. A quintessence lists of characters (there are more than five) of Englishness and much, if not most, are the myth, the nature of the association. And the purpose of identifying these icons of Englishness is to facilitate the construction of Sir Jack Pitman a sequel to the Island Wight, England, a theme park full of imitation and playback experience, the meeting to take the stress out of tourism. Theme Park in England becomes, in itself, the quintessence (a) of the corporate identity and presence, with products proposed to be viewed and marketed as "better" than the originals. It is always a great success until, that is, the imitation begin to take their assigned identities. Smugglers have a problem when they start to smuggling. Dr. Samuel Johnson changes his name to – guess what? – Dr. Samuel Johnson and begins to mimic the behavior of the historical figure, along with some of his own improvisations to added effect. King claims to be a king and Robin Hood and his merry aspiring real outlaw. All are in breach of contract. With humor, the book raises questions about what is essential in the national personal identity. The project identifies the myths and plays the second-order experience, they become as a measure to fill the role in the creation of identity, the definition and perpetuation of the real thing. Thus, by extension, issues book on how to create, perform and support the culture and values partners.

The existence of the myth and its potential influence identity and culture are very important for my second day in Chester. This time, as an adult I saw wood and Roman roots, Zoo has been transformed by changing notions of the animal. And a new reality asserts itself, recasting is the permanence of my childhood memories. The blind child, asparagus is largely nineteenth-century reproduction and imitation. If it promotes discussion on Tudor England, it is assumed that the association learned elsewhere. And the existing elements of Roman Chester are small, some reduced to piles stone. The official guide of the city, which I bought to help interpret the visit, a Roman centurion on the cover. He wore a badge with the words "Tetley Bitterman" stamped on where one might expect "SPQR." In the end Visit of a myth, I hade grew largely been exploited. The story itself is not the myth. This is proof that the claim in its name that is the problem. No wonder Sir Jack the Theme Park attractions were as good as the real thing when the original was originally a theme park. The myth can survive the reality, I suppose, if the person still want to believe. And by the way, I never land where elephants really like cold bacon sandwiches.
