need advice on colors decorate the room?

I have a dark green carpet in my room. I just bought a suede duvet set of micro, color is chocolate brown accents, but very dark in general. My furniture is light pine. The room is a good size about 16 x 10 and has three windows really great! 58 inches wide by 42 long. Also I have to choose curtains. I would like to continue with warm neutral tones and not end up with a very dark room. What I choose colors for curtains and walls and accents? I have a few decorations in gold / brass color. please help! Thanks in advance
