Mattress Size Question?

Ok, so me and my sister used to share a room and double in size, but now I recently moved and received a new bed frame that fits both twin mattress or another, and I get a quilt that satisfies the mattress without having to buy two. Is it the queen or full size mattress for two people? And what is the difference between a queen and a full? Thanks, all answers are appreciated:).
