How I can distribute the feathers in my quilt?

I have a king whose feathers are all on the edges (dangling from the bed) and thin flat in the center. (No wonder I have so cold at night). How I can get the feathers evenly distributed throughout the comforter? I tried to shake. This works a little, but enough.
