rental apartment resembles hotel room HELP?
The rental studio/efficacy apartment my fiance and I just rented is furnished and terribly looks like a hotel room. We are on a very tight budget. But are looking for some ideas to make it feel more like home and not so much hotel. The walls are natural darker wood as is the furniture. Im open for suggestions. We have chosen a comforter set with burgundy, light brown and some greens as well as khaki. It is the current focal point of the room. Since its all in one room you see the kitchen and bed at the same time. I don’t think there’s room for dividing screens either. As it is also about the size as a hotel room. Must tackle covering the plain jane white mini blinds too. The building is over 100years old and has that feel..in fact it was once a hunting lodge. That’s most of the info I can thin of. Please share you advise. Thanks!
Slip covers for the sofa and chairs,Some great soft lighting a table cloth and some framed art.
Don’t forget colorful throw pillows.
This is a great place to buy posters. You can frame them at home to save money. Pick classic artists and modern art/ What ever you like.

You can always use an open book shelf to divide the two parts of the room.http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60103627
Add some drapes on the sides of your walls.
Have fun and congrats on your first place.
