What Size Comforter Will Go On 2 Twin Size Beds Put Together?

It’s quite common for people to choose to put their twin size beds together to make one larger bed….

In doing so, they have inadvertently created a california king size bed for themselves, which means you will need to buy a california king comforter.

Browsing Amazon.com, I located this affordable and modern looking comforter that would suit most people and most bedrooms.

What Color Bedspread Would Suit a Bedroom With Black Walls?

Not that black walls would be my personal choice, but I certainly understand that everyone is different and accordingly different things appeal to us.

I would suggest that black walls would make your bedroom very dark, unless you have lots of window area, which would allow some natural light in to brighten the room.

Irrespective, you could probably go for bright, neon type colors eg yellow, pink, lime green, but in my opinion for a really classy look a very light cream color would do it for me…not white, as I think the contrasts will be too stark, perhaps something with a third color to offset it as well.

You could accessorise with lamps, cushions, drapes etc to really tie your new look together!

I spent a bit of time browsing Amazon, but I didn’t really like the cream bedspreads I saw, but I did find this awesome 7 piece Queen Size Bed in a Bag comforter set that is currently reduced by 77% which would look pretty amazing in a room with black walls.

When Winter comes around there’s nothing better than snuggling into bed under a nice warm doona (or comforter depending on where you’re from), which begs the question…

What’s the warmest type of doona?

Well, I would say this is very definitely something that comes down to personal preference, but I’ve got to say that I have just recently discovered how wonderful a wool comforter is.

After being a bit sceptical at first, I can tell you that I simply love our wool doona. If you’re used to a feather or down comforter, it does take a bit of getting used to as the wool doona is not fluffy and is a bit deceiving as it feels lighter than a feather doona, but I can tell you from personal experience, it is so much warmer.

In all my adult life I have used an electric blanket on my bed, but ever since we’ve had the wool comforter, I have actually taken the electric blanket off the bed, which believe me is amazing as I’m one of the coldest people I know :)

So, if you’re looking for a doona, I would definitely recommend trying a wool one…just give it a go as you might just be surprised as I was. I know I will never go back to a down or feather comforter again now.

What is the easiest way to get a duvet cover on a duvet?

Ahhh…this is a widely asked question about a skill only very few master, lol!

Actually it’s not really that hard….if you follow these simple steps you will have your duvet cover on in a matter of moments:

  1. Lay your naked comforter flat on the bed
  2. Turn your duvet cover inside out
  3. Pick the duvet cover up by holding each of the top corners in your hands
  4. Whilst you have each corner of the duvet cover in your hand pick up the corresponding corner of the comforter
  5. Give a flick of your wrists and flick the duvet cover over the comforter
  6. Shake the comforter down so the bottom corners are out
  7. Tuck the bottom corners of the comforter into the duvet cover
  8. Zip or button the duvet cover up
  9. Lay out on your bed
